Reflections of Self

And now….where did I begin this story?  I started this thing once already.

Nope.  Don’t like that look.  Let’s try another.  Nah, not flashy enough.

Wait, you mean I have to PAY for that?  Skip that idea!

Aha!  I think I’ll try…THIS one!  There we go.  Design all set.

As I started this once before, I sure don’t like this title. NOT AT ALL!

Ugh!  Gotta go. Now. Today.

But, first, what IS my story anyway?

What’s the purpose? The point?  The subject?

How am I going to become the next J.K. Rowling if I don’t have a “Harry Potter?”

Or the next Ray Bradbury if I don’t have that futuristic date?

I mean “1984” is long gone.  And, it didn’t turn out the way he envisioned.

Frances Mayes, who says that her idea of heaven is to drive a gravel road while lost

Oh, how I’d love to be able to turn a phrase like she does

So simply under the sun of Tuscany

Ah, well, in order to “drive” at all, I need to get this vehicle built

The blog.  And for the lead character….

Who else is there to talk about but…me?

Me, me, and all about…me.

Sounds rather narcissistic, don’t you think?

But what about me is…interesting?

Intriguing?

Stimulating?

Or…is even remotely humorous?

Then, one entry starts.  Aha! I think I might have a clue now.

“Finding myself.”  I sure don’t know myself very well.

Oh, I love that photo!  I think I’ll put that in for the cover….

It’s coming along.  The physical blog, anyway…

But then, I just can’t get consistent.

I mean there’s only so much you can write about…yourself.

So much for being the next J.K. Rowling with the “Harry Potter”

Ray Bradbury with the futuristic theme;

Frances Mayes finding herself in Tuscany?  I can’t even find my glasses!

And how do I get followers?  Hits?

Problem is, I need to write….I just don’t feel inspired.  Not yet.

Something changes.  Not sure what.

The phase of the moon?  An eclipse?

Mind shift?  Paradigm shift?

Something just goes “click.”

A post that screams for those who want feedback…

“That’s for me!”  I think.  In the meantime, I’ve been posting…sometimes.

Now the hits are coming faster.  And faster.  And faster still.

I’m now ready to write and focus.

Word of the Day – what a release from the brain strain!

I’ve now changed the design a few times; the icon a few times.

Now, I think it’s something I like; something that’s, well, me.

I’m learning that all I can do is write.  And, to read blogs of others.

It’s a family, a community.  We’re all striving to be better.

We all have voices desperate to be heard; things we want to say.

Intriguing ways to say it all.  And we can learn from one another.

Grow from one another.

And I’ve grown from all of you…thank you, my fellow bloggers.

Note:  the paraphrased quote from Frances Mayes, Under the Tuscan Sun (2009) is as read, “My idea of heaven still is to drive the gravel roads of Umbra and Tuscany, very pleasantly lost.”
